Simon is a design and manufacturing specialist with almost 30 years’ experience across architectural and interiors, industrial design, film and advertising sectors. Simon founded 175Design over 15 years ago following a career as a leading prop-maker in blockbuster films including The Great Gatsby, Mad Max: Fury Road, The Wolverine and the Matrix Trilogy.

As a designer, Simon creates pieces that are materially driven and present a contemporary take on modernist design principles. He will often create one-off pieces or make small, bespoke runs of functional yet highly sculptural items. His work can be found in premium private residences and commercial venues across Sydney and interstate.

Simon also works closely with architects and interior designers on complex, bespoke and custom features. He has end-to-end experience in concept, detailed and developed design, fabrication and installation of specialist elements to suit highly specific briefs. His highly developed design sensibility, exceptional technical skills and knowledge of materials means he is adept at finding and creating solutions that combine sophisticated design with resolved, technically outstanding, and elegant project realisation and delivery.
